Enhancing Church Worship with High-Quality LED Video Screens
Houses of Worship in the United States are distinct from Houses of Worship in the rest of the world. In order to attract congregants many churches in the United States invest large amounts of money in the latest sound equipment, entertainment lighting and LED video displays in order to present elaborate productions to their congregants in order to encourage their attendance at worship services
In the not too distant past projectors were the primary method used to project images to the congregants. However projection has many weaknesses when compared to LED video screens. Most Houses of Worship have ambient light that intrudes into the sanctuary which render projected images faint, and colors that are weak. Video walls for churches are not affected by ambient light. LED displays present very sharp images and intense colors, including true black. Projected images are affected by shadows created when individuals walk in front of a projected image. Led images generate from the screen itself and are therefore not affected by anyone walking in front of the LED display. Entertainment lighting washes out Projected images. Lighting has no impact on LED video screens. Church LED video displays have become ubiquitous in the House of Worship market.
As congregants are normally seated more than 20’ from the church LED video wall a pixel pitch of P4 will be adequate so that congregant will not see any pixelation. However, with the reduction in prices of LED walls for churches, over the past few years, many church LED screens are being bought in a P2.5 pixel pitch which provide even more clarity and color intensity to a church LED display.
Many Houses of Worship have live video feeds that are transmitted to church video walls. Video is shot in a 16:9 native aspect ratio. LED displays for churches are available in 16:9 native aspect ratio sizes so that the videos are shown exactly as they are shot with no need to scale or manipulate the images.
LED walls for churches can also come in square sizes that are often placed on the center stage where the shape of the church LED display can be altered from week to week in order to encourage the involvement in the services by the congregants.
